The Stuttgart-based Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group is preparing the launch of an Internet video portal. As the weekly magazine Werben & Verkaufen reports in its current issue, the capital-city film portal is to go online in mid-February and be operated by the Berlin television production company AVE, which belongs to the media group.

Unlike unlike Web 2.0 platforms such as YouTube.com, MyVideo.de or Clipfish.de, however, the offering would not be a platform for uploading private videos: instead, the basis of the Berlin film website would be “professionally but unusually, creatively and cheaply produced” video contributions by young journalists and trainees,

reports W&V, citing negotiating circles.
