Sony Media Software is now making a new update available free of charge to registered Vegas users. Version 7.0c of the video and audio editing software now also supports the progressive-scan modes of the Sony HVR-V1 series – 24p and 30p on the V1U/V1J/V1N HDV camcorders as well as 25p on the V1E/V1P/V1C HDV camcorders – and offers an integrated import module for the HVR-DR60 hard-disk recorder. The progressive-scan modes of the V1 series work automatically without manual intervention. Users can manually remove the pulldown from native or converted 24p DV files.

In addition, Vegas 7.0c offers increased colour accuracy for XDCAM HD exports, stronger monitoring of DV, SD XDCAM and HDV formats via SDI and better support for VST, 24p, 25p and 30p HDV project templates. Also included is 640 x 480 export support for the Apple iPod and downloadable HD MPEG-2 templates for the professional Sony Blu-print Blu-ray authoring system.
