S4M’s Video Production Management System is now used to produce Tagesschau news programmes. VPMS manages the creation, administration, editing and distribution of digital video material.
At Tagesschau, VPMS operates with Quantel’s sQ system as part of an integrated workflow. The VPMS JobControl module manages ingest and the ARD video file-transfer connection. PlayOut Control handles tape output for the archive.
VPMS also supports Tagesschau’s Quantel zone architecture. It synchronises video material to maintain available backups and manages media across both production zones. Operators can record or delete material in either zone from one interface.
