Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg has commissioned MCI to build a new regional studio in Frankfurt an der Oder. The dual-media facility will be located in the Oderturm shopping centre and can be used by both radio and television editorial teams. A central audio router will switch signals for both production areas.
MCI won the general-contractor tender covering radio, television and lighting. MCI subsidiary AudioOne is independently responsible for the radio package. ARRI Lighting will install the lighting systems as a subcontractor, while AudioOne will handle the overall installation. Another MCI subsidiary, AVC, is responsible for commissioning.
The radio system centres on a Mandozzi console and Mandozzi routers. Radio programmes can be produced through two glass-walled control rooms and the associated studio.
Television equipment includes a Grass Valley Kayak vision mixer, LDK400 cameras, a Pro-Bel video router, Chyron character generators and a Miranda multiviewer.
Completion, including relocation of components from the previous site, is scheduled for early September 2007.
