In the autumn of 2006, the Rolling Stones give two concerts at New York’s Beacon Theatre. In the almost intimate atmosphere of the old theater, it becomes clear once again why Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Charlie Watts are considered legends. In front of an enthusiastic audience that also includes Hilary and Bill Clinton, the Stones perform their worldwide hits as well as lesser-known songs. Guest appearances by Christina Aguilera, blues legend Buddy Guy and Jack White (“White Stripes”) make the evening unforgettable. After his Oscar for “Departed”, director Martin Scorsese now turns the cameras on the world’s most successful rock band: The Rolling Stones. With SHINE A LIGHT, however, he proves not only his mastery as a director. The film is also a summit meeting of Hollywood’s best cameramen and – women, who capture the concert from every conceivable angle. In addition, a brilliant soundtrack conveys the feeling of being right in the middle of it. SHINE A LIGHT is thus better than any concert visit and runs from 27.9. for exclusive two weeks only in selected cinemas.
