Is e-commerce old hat? Not at all: At the Xtopia web conference, designers, developers project managers, managers as well as specialist and technical decision-makers learn the latest techniques for luring customers to their own site. As part of talks, workshops and evening events, visitors experience the various facets of e-commerce and get to know brand-new, innovative developments. Technology experts from Microsoft and partner companies offer different perspectives and approaches to enable as comprehensive a view of the subject as possible. The event organized by Microsoft takes place from October 10 to 12, 2007 at Kosmos at Karl-Marx-Allee 131a in Berlin.
In recent years, the Internet has developed into a global marketplace that continues to grow inexorably. New business models are constantly emerging that place complex demands on Internet presences and online marketing strategies. To remain up to date, those responsible must continually educate themselves and look at current techniques. The Xtopia web conference offers a unique opportunity for this.
Following a keynote by Sanjay Parthasarathy, Corporate Vice President Developer Platform & Strategy Group (DPE) at Microsoft, and Dr. Said Zahedani, Director DPE Microsoft GmbH, there are numerous talks on the first two days by experts from Microsoft, customers and partner companies such as BMW, Neo Geo, n-tv, pixelpark and Premiere. Achim Berg, Chairman of the Management Board of Microsoft Germany and Vice President International, will also participate in Xtopia.
In the developer track, the focus is on the topics Silverlight, ASP.NET AJAX, Windows Live, Office Live and WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation).
The design track mainly takes care of the topics User Experience and standards-compliant web design as well as the tools Expression Studio and XAML.
The business track presents, among other things, new forms of television and marketing as well as new business models as part of Web 2.0.
On the final day, three more workshops for developers take place, dealing with WPF, Silverlight and ASP.NET AJAX. Designers, by contrast, attend the three workshops on Hands-On UI Design, “How good is the website really?” as well as on Expression Studio.
