Six LCD projectors for the mid-range segment are expanding Sony Professional Solutions Europe’s C-series. The range began in June with the VPL-CX120 and VPL-CX150. Sony is now shipping the VPL-CX100, VPL-CX125 and VPL-CX155, while its first WXGA model, the VPL-CW125, is scheduled to complete the line-up in September. All six models use improved dust filters and more efficient lamps.
The VPL-CX100, VPL-CX125 and VPL-CX155 business projectors offer a contrast ratio of 650:1, brightness levels of 2,700, 3,000 and 3,500 ANSI lumens respectively, and full XGA resolution. They use Sony’s three-LCD technology, with separate panels for red, green and blue. The design is intended to preserve gradations in dark areas while producing sharp images and natural colour. A new Natural Mode displays natural white more brightly.
The VPL-CX125 and VPL-CX155 include AirShot technology for networked presentations. Presenters can send data to the projector through a standard RJ45 network connection. Sony’s optional Ziris Manage Lite tool provides remote administration and control of projectors connected to a network, supporting projections between distant locations and distance-learning applications.
All models in the range use a fan and filter system intended to protect them from dust and smoke. A redesigned cooling system leaves the lamp unobstructed by surrounding components, reducing internal heat. Sony said this extends lamp life, lowers operating costs and produces more light per watt.
The C-series is distributed by Actebis Peacock, BHS Binkert, COS, eLink, Delo, Ingram Micro, Liesegang, SIGMA, Tarox and Tech Data. End customers can obtain the models through Sony Specialist Dealers and IT/AV resellers.
