Fujitsu Services, the European IT services subsidiary of the Fujitsu Group, has received an order from Reuters to modernise the existing IT systems so that the 17,500 users in more than 100 countries – from Dubai through China to Brazil – receive secure and fast access to IT services. Reuters is the world’s largest international news agency, delivering tailored information for professional customers in the financial services, media and corporate sectors.
The contract between Fujitsu Services and Reuters has been concluded for a term of ten years. As part of the contract, a number of Reuters employees will be taken over by Fujitsu Services.
The new IT infrastructure will be implemented and operated by Fujitsu Services and will support Reuters employees much better in future. IT services will be provided from Fujitsu Services’ multilingual helpdesks in Lisbon and Kuala Lumpur as well as data centres around the world. Reuters expects significant productivity increases and advantages over its competitors in the market from this innovative project.
