Experts from Sony Professional Services will also be present at IBC. They will be available to answer visitors’ questions and will be happy to explain to them how we can support them in implementing their ideas within an affordable framework.”
From acquisition through editing and distribution to playback – an unprecedented selection of devices and solutions awaits visitors in the New Product Showcase Area. The market launch of the tapeless XDCAM EX camcorder in Europe will certainly attract particular interest. This is another important component of Sony’s strategy of offering a suitable solution for every budget and every format. Further NAB innovations will be seen for the first time in Europe at IBC, including the HDCAM SR video recorder SRW-5800, the professional flat-panel monitor BVM-L230 and the HDCAM camera HDW-790P.
As part of an extensive monitor exhibition, the LMD-4250W, the latest model of Sony’s professional flat-panel monitors, will be presented, among other things. With its 42″ panel (viewing area, measured diagonally) and a resolution of 1920 x 1080, the LMD-4250W offers pixel-accurate image reproduction in Full HD format as well as a selection of formats from SD to 1080/60i, supplemented by expansion slots for add-on cards for an individual configuration – thus cost-effectiveness and future-proofing are guaranteed. The market launch of the monitor is planned for this autumn.
The largest selection of HD cameras Sony has ever shown will also be on display. From HDV camcorders in the lower price segment through the family of tapeless XDCAM cameras to HDCAM products from the high-end range, an unrivalled large offering is available to creatives and content providers.
Another innovation is the HDC-1450 system camera. The affordable single-format camera is connected via triax cable and records at 50 full frames per second.
In the direct vicinity of Sony’s main exhibition and Sony Professional Services at stand 9.130, Sony Creative Software will present its Vegas Pro 8® video and audio production suite at stand 9.131. The Vegas Pro 8® suite is designed for a seamless XDCAM HD workflow, offers comprehensive import and editing support for HDV and Sony’s own AVCHD format, as well as numerous other features that increase productivity and improve output quality. Also on show are: DVD Architect 4.5, included in the Vegas Pro 8® suite, Cinescore software for creating soundtracks in next to no time and the Sound Forge 9 audio production suite with new multichannel recording and editing functions.
In the Networked Production Zone, Sony is presenting Preservation Factory™, HDXchange and Petasite. Visitors can also find out here about the latest Sonaps developments, which stem from the partnership between Sony and Sobey and which improve the daily workflow in all phases. In the Sony application cinema, Sony presents networked production solutions that were realised for broadcasters and production companies with very different requirements and budgets.
HD for the Stadiums of Tomorrow
From acquisition and production through transmission and archiving, Sony’s networked HD products, together with the services of Sony Professional Services, open up completely new possibilities for large event venues such as sports stadiums. For example, material filmed in the stadium can be transmitted directly with the help of Ziris management software to monitors that are placed, for example, in the entrance area or at the edge of the playing field. But Sony is also represented behind the scenes: With IPELA surveillance cameras and their intelligent surveillance functions, Sony contributes to greater security at public events.
Sony also offers innovative technologies for outside-broadcast vehicles that optimise the transmission of live events. Tailored complete system solutions from Sony, designed and realised by Sony Professional Services, ensure uncomplicated processes. Sony demonstrates this at IBC using the Polsat 2 outside-broadcast vehicle.
A special highlight awaits trade-fair visitors on Saturday, September 8 at 18:30: As part of a Sony D-Cinema demonstration, they can experience Sony’s CineAlta 4K technology with their own eyes.
