Atari Shows 2007 Games Convention Lineup

Atari’s Games Convention lineup includes The Witcher, Ace Combat 6, Race 07, Eternal Sonata, and several licensed console titles.

Atari is presenting its 2007 lineup at stand E 02 in Hall 2 and elsewhere across the Games Convention site. Attractions include mirrors that place visitors in the role of The Witcher’s protagonist, driving stations for Race 07 – The Official WTCC Game, and an autograph session with H-Blockx.

Visitors can play The Witcher publicly for the first time and watch a 12-minute trailer in a cinema built for the show. Mirrors throughout the site carry “Witcher hairstyles,” turning visitors into Geralt of Rivia when they look into them.

The stand also features Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation, with a preview of its single-player mode and aerial combat. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2 continue the Japanese fighting-game series. Atari is also showing the game adaptation of Asterix at the Olympic Games six months before the film’s release, the Xbox 360 role-playing game Eternal Sonata, Tamagotchi: Party On! for Wii, and survival-horror game Obscure 2.

In the glass entrance area, Atari installed four game frames running Race 07 – The Official WTCC Game and Test Drive Unlimited. Race 07 succeeds Race 06 and adds driving behaviour, dirt effects on visors, and weather effects intended to strengthen the racing simulation.

Atari is also sponsoring the “public play” exhibition, successor to “pong.mythos.” The Computerspielemuseum Berlin is showing works by international artists on digital games and public space across 500 square metres in Hall 5. Large-format light projections and sound installations turn familiar Leipzig streets and locations into public play spaces.

German crossover band H-Blockx will sign autographs on Friday, 24 August, from 16:00 to 18:00 at the Race 07 and Test Drive Unlimited stations in the glass entrance hall.
