To accelerate adoption of internet television, the service previously available only over the VDSL network will also be carried over an upgraded DSL network.
The high-speed VDSL network covers 27 cities, while the upgraded DSL network will add another 750. “By the end of 2007, more than 17 million households will be able to use our high-speed network,” said fixed-network board member Timotheus Höttges. The current figure was 15 million. Chief executive René Obermann also presented new media-service packages priced from €60 to €75 per month, around 16 percent below the previous VDSL tariffs.
