During Europe’s leading trade fair in the broadcasting field, the company will provide information to visitors at its stand (No. 7.811a) from September 7 to 11. “The figures for the damage caused annually by content pirates are more than alarming. The fight against the thieves of digital content is like a marathon race in which we are now one step ahead again,” explains Alexander Normann, European Marketing Manager at Rimage. “The Business Software Alliance estimates the worldwide damage caused by illegal software copies at over 30 billion US dollars.”
Rimage Video Protect is part of the Rimage Software Suite and ensures seamless execution as well as an accelerated workflow when using QuickDisc or Rimage Rapid API™ during authoring. Users can, for example, provide the data carrier with reliable protection during the production of a DVD when they produce it on a Digital Publishing System from Rimage and use Video Protect™ at the same time. “Companies that have invested a great deal of time and money in creating intellectual property can protect their originals with Rimage Video Protect,” Alexander Normann adds. “Our customers need a solution of this kind, such as the one we now offer with our technology. At present, there is no anti-rip application that protects digital content more effectively and has a correspondingly high degree of compatibility with other systems.”
Rimage Video Protect reliably blocks rip and copy programs but has no negative effect on the playback quality of protected content. The seamless integration of the solution into Rimage’s publishing systems enables DVD producers to create their data carriers even more securely in the future without needing more time or having to change work processes. The Rimage application is a passive software solution that encapsulates files on a DVD and protects the data. The digital content of the respective original file remains untouched, because the Copy Control files are stored in the areas of the data carriers that are not needed when the content is played back. Test laboratories such as Intellikey Labs confirm that Rimage Video Protect ensures both faithful playback of the digital content and high compatibility without installing additional software on users’ computers.
