Expansion into other countries in Europe is also being planned.

The offer is aimed primarily at households, predominantly in rural regions, which are currently not developed with DSL broadband infrastructure and will not be in the foreseeable future either. According to a study by the Federal Ministry of Economics, around 2.9 million households in the Federal Republic are currently affected. With the new satellite products, StarDSL GmbH is thus now offering a cost-effective alternative in the broadband sector to normal DSL connections.

The necessary hardware for the end consumer consists of a satellite antenna + I-LNB and an IP- modem, which is distinguished by particularly simple handling and installation. Access is offered under the flat-rate tariff with downstream bandwidths of 256 kbit/s, 512 kbit/s and 1024 kbit/s. The costs are between 39,95 € and 59,95 € plus hardware for 299 € + shipping. The one-time setup fee of 99,95 € is waived.

The new satellite product via ASTRA2Connect will also support Internet telephony (VoIP), which can additionally be booked from 01.11.2007.

Together with its technical service provider, H3 netservice GmbH, StarDSL GmbH is thus offering an innovative product for the German market that can provide every household within the Federal Republic of Germany with an inexpensive broadband connection. Marketing is being pursued comprehensively and purposefully in the relevant regions.
