Tricaster STUDIO, the new version of Newtek’s portable Tricaster video production system, now makes it possible to create virtual sets. Up to six cameras can be connected to the system, and a separate virtual set can be defined for each camera. A virtual set consists of several image layers with or without an alpha channel, which can be placed in front of and behind the image plane.
A live keyer is once again included. In addition to the six camera channels, there are also two DDR channels – hard-disk-based image sources that behave like a VTR. AVI, Quicktime and image files can be held in a DDR channel.
In addition to outputting the live signal via SDI or component, Tricaster Studio can output the video signal as a Windows Media stream or as VC-1 in order to stream the broadcast simultaneously to the Internet. Tricaster STUDIO is now available at a price of around 10 000 US dollars.
