Da Vinci and ARRI Define DI Exchange

The DAE protocol links ARRISCAN with Resolve and Revival, generating selective scan lists and populating grading timelines as clips arrive.

Da Vinci and ARRI developed the Da Vinci-ARRI Exchange protocol for digital-intermediate workflows.

DAE connected ARRISCAN film scanners with Da Vinci Resolve and Revival systems, linking scanning and colour-finishing departments.

A colourist loaded an edit decision list into Resolve or Splice and set the required parameters. The system generated a DAE list for the ARRI scanner.

ARRISCAN converted that information into a selective scan list, captured only the requested sequences and stored the files according to the specified settings.

Resolve or Splice created placeholders in its media pool and populated the timeline as scanning progressed. Grading could begin as soon as each clip became available.
