Quantel 3.7 Improves Grading and Conform

Quantel software 3.7 adds shape tools, shot-level grade versions, expanded AAF and MXF conforming, audio patching and faster TIFF export.

Quantel introduced software version 3.7 for its eQ, iQ and Pablo systems.

Updated graphic-shape tools improved rotoscoping, keying, colour correction and garbage mattes. Variable edge softness and conversion of primitives to curves provided more detailed control while retaining interaction at high resolution.

Pablo gained tools for applying, trimming and managing grades across shots. Multiple grade versions could be stored for each shot so cinematographers and directors could compare alternative looks.

Network conforming accepted more file structures used in digital-intermediate work. Improved AAF conforming added audio patching for assembling complex multilayer video and audio edits.

The release also supported additional MXF variants and accelerated TIFF export for digital-cinema workflows.

Version 3.7 was scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2007 and was available to eQ, iQ and Pablo users with current QCare coverage.
