The Cologne systems and consulting house received the prize for integrating its VPMS software into the Tektronix Cerify system for technical quality control of video material.

VPMS, S4M’s Video Production Management System, enables the professional creation, management, editing and distribution of digital video material. It is used, among other places, at ARD Tagesschau and Focus TV.

For the new London broadcasting center of the European broadcasting group SBS (Scandinavian Broadcasting System), S4M integrated the Cerify quality inspection system from Tektronix via a web service interface. VPMS automatically initiates a quality check via Cerify for every video in the system. The result can be viewed via VPMS. In addition, the detailed error report is accessible via a link in VPMS: This makes it possible to read exactly in the web browser which errors Cerify has detected.

With the award ceremony at IBC 2007, Tektronix simultaneously gave the official starting signal for the Cerify Developer Community – a group of companies that are jointly advancing file-based quality control for content stored on servers.
