TV-Loonland Takes Penelope Distribution Rights

TV-Loonland gains television, home-video, VOD, IPTV and mobile rights to the preschool 3D series Penelope across multiple regions.

TV-Loonland agreed to distribute the 3D animated preschool series Penelope with Japanese producer Nippon Animation.

The series was based on children’s books written by Anne Gutman and illustrated by Georg Hallensleben. Its stories followed the curious Penelope through everyday experiences with family and friends.

Penelope was co-produced by Nippon Animation, NHK Enterprises and Shirogumi.

TV-Loonland received rights covering television, home video, video on demand, broadband, IPTV and mobile content.

The territories comprised Western and Eastern Europe, Russia, the Baltic states, Scandinavia, Israel, the Middle East and Africa, including South Africa.

The production had been nominated in the young-children’s animated-series category at the 2007 Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
