Adobe Systems today announced the new Adobe Technical Communication Suite. With the software solution, technical information and training content can be developed, managed and published across multiple formats and languages. Technical authors and designers of learning content can use the Technical Communication Suite to create extensive documentation, e-learning courses and appealing programs for user guidance. These can be designed conventionally with text and graphics or expanded with rich-media elements, for example with 3D models or videos compatibel with Adobe Flash Player.
The suite contains Adobe RoboHelp 7, the new version of the development tool for help systems and knowledge databases, as well as Adobe FrameMaker 8, Adobe Captivate 3 and Adobe Acrobat 3D Version 8. Both the holistic product and workflow integration as well as support for rich-media formats enables authors to create appealing information, save time and avoid inconsistencies in content. The rich-media formats include video, SWF, MP3 and AVI files compatible with Adobe Flash Player, but also industry standards such as Adobe PDF (Portable Document Format), XML and DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture).
The Adobe Technical Communication Suite is expected to be available from the end of October for Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows XP and cost around 1600 EURO. Users of earlier versions of Adobe Captivate, FrameMaker and RoboHelp can purchase an upgrade for about 1000 EURO.
