With Nuendo 4, Steinberg is presenting a new version of its audio software. The current release offers a large number of new features and technologies tailored to the needs of Audio Professionals in the areas of Post Production, Studio Production and Live Recording.
Users can now use a new automation system. The new functions include Preview Mode, Fill Commands, Punch Logs, Virgin Territories as well as the unique new Touch Collect Assistant. The range of functions corresponds to that known from hardware solutions and combines these with the flexibility of digital audio environment.
MediaBay serves to manage audio, video and other media files and can thus make external FX -database tools superfluous. MediaBay offers powerful tools for searching and organizing Media Files, regardless of where these files are located on the computer system. Intelligent database technologies and useful functions such as User-defined Tags, enable lightning-fast filtering of search results and rapid location of needed sounds.
Nuendo 4 also contains 38 new surround-capable audio PlugIns. Based on VST3 technology, these PlugIns offer possibilities such as Side Chaining, Dynamics, Reverb and Filter. Each audio channel is equipped with a new Channel EQ.
In addition, Nuendo now has numerous new special functions for Post Production in the areas of film, TV and broadcast. The Edit tools include many new options for quickly and precisely placing, moving and trimming audio material, thus enabling faster workflows. New recording and routing options increase flexibility. Audio signals can be recorded from any summating object such as groups or FX Return channels onto any audio track. Nuendo 4 thus supports special recording workflows such as Stem or Print Master Recording and makes the use of external recording devices superfluous.
