Adobe made Flash Lite 3 available to mobile-network operators and device manufacturers.
The player brought Flash video and dynamic web content to mobile devices. Developers could build applications, interfaces, screensavers, wallpapers and games while using resource management designed for constrained hardware.
Supported platforms included S60 on the second and third editions of Symbian, Qualcomm BREW 2.x and 3.x, Microsoft Windows Mobile 5 and embedded systems from multiple manufacturers.
Nokia and NTT DoCoMo planned to integrate Flash Lite 3 into future handsets. Adobe said 300 million Flash-capable mobile devices had already shipped.
Adobe and Forum Nokia also opened a community for Flash developers and designers. Forum Nokia supplied development kits, tools, market information and technical support and had 3.4 million members at the time.
