Sony Professional Solutions Europe introduced the VPL-CW125, its first WXGA projector and the sixth model in the company’s C-series.
The 3LCD system produced 3,000 ANSI lumens at a widescreen resolution intended to match contemporary notebook displays. Separate red, green and blue panels handled colour reproduction, while a Natural mode increased the brightness of neutral whites.
AirShot sent presentation data to the projector through a standard RJ45 network connection.
Side Shot Digital Horizontal Shift corrected horizontal geometry when the unit could not be placed directly in front of the screen. The projector also used a low-noise ventilation system designed to limit dust and smoke ingress.
An updated cooling layout left the lamp less enclosed, reducing internal heat and increasing light output per watt. Sony said the design also extended lamp life and lowered operating costs.
