Pinnacle Releases Three USB DVB-T Tuners

Pinnacle’s three PCTV DVB-T USB tuners add live viewing, recording and timeshifting, with streaming and editing in the Ultimate model.

Pinnacle Systems expanded its PCTV range with three USB tuners for digital terrestrial television.

The PCTV DVB-T Stick Ultimate supported live viewing, recording and timeshifting. DistanTV software could stream a live channel to as many as three other PCs on a home network, and a miniature remote control was included.

Recordings could be stored on the computer or written directly to DVD in MPEG-1, MPEG-2 or DivX format. Pinnacle Studio QuickStart Edition provided editing and DVD-authoring tools for recorded material.

The USB-powered tuner included a DVB-T chipset, connected to an existing or supplied aerial, and was certified for Windows Vista and Windows Media Center.

The standard PCTV DVB-T Stick omitted network streaming and video editing. The Solo model also removed the remote control.

Recommended prices were €39.90 for the available Solo, €49.90 for the available standard Stick and €59.90 for the Ultimate, scheduled for mid-October 2007.
