Colorfront selected a 43 TB DVS SAN fitted with DataDirect Networks storage components for its Budapest postproduction facility. The massively parallel system was configured to handle six uncompressed 2K streams in realtime while protecting data with RAID 5.
The installation supported shared SD, HD, 2K and 4K work. DataDirect’s S2A storage architecture connected heterogeneous workstations and applications through a Fibre Channel fabric and expanded DVS’s storage range into enterprise-scale configurations.
DVS’s Spycer data manager provided file browsing and search, metadata editing, high-speed copying and defragmentation. The combination targeted collaborative digital-intermediate workflows requiring distributed storage and realtime media access.
Colorfront chose the platform for data-intensive projects that needed both sustained bandwidth and fault tolerance.
