Sony’s BVM-L230 reference monitor received the IABM Peter Wayne Award for Design and Innovation. The 23-inch display targeted television, digital-cinema and postproduction image evaluation.
The monitor used a 1920 by 1080 10-bit LCD panel with 12-bit signal processing and a precision LED backlight. It supported refresh rates of 50 and 60 Hz as well as 100 and 120 Hz.
Sony’s TRIMASTER technology coordinated the panel, processing and backlight for consistent colour and critical image assessment. The BVM-L230 was selected from five finalists after more than 70 products and services entered the award programme.
