As justification, the network operator, which supplies around 2.3 million households, said that Klassik Radio has not paid the carriage fees due for one year. Klassik Radio executive board member Ulrich Kubak was refusing to sign the necessary carriage contract. The payments had not been made because the contracts from Kabel BW were not accepted, a spokeswoman for Klassik Radio explained. In the first nine months of the current 2006/07 financial year, Klassik Radio AG slipped into
the loss zone. The broadcaster’s share price therefore fell from around eight euros in May 2007 to 5.60 euros by now.
