Gamesforge 4D brings NosTale, an MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game), to Europe: The open beta in German starts today; registration and participation are now free of charge on the website.

Detailed game instructions and guiding the player through initial simple tasks in the game also enable newcomers to enter the world of online role-playing games. “Join our Story!” is the call from the makers of NosTale, who want to appeal to the whole family with this game.

In NosTale, the player can solve tasks, fight battles or simply have conversations alone, in a group or with his ‘family’ (guild). Compared with other role-playing games in which the basic character traits must already be defined before the game begins, in NosTale every player initially begins as a simple adventurer. In this way he can gain initial experience with special functions and find out what best suits his playing style. Only after several completed adventures does the player define the basic characteristics for his own hero: Here he can choose between swordsman, archer or warlock. The skills and acquired items can be improved more and more over time. During the game, the player can also have himself trained as a specialist in a wide variety of disciplines and thus create an individual character.

For his own support, the player can tame wild animals or persuade human non-player characters (Non Playing Characters) to join him. The “NosMates” gained in this way can be trained to undertake the adventures together with the player. The player cultivates the friendships gained in his own mini-land. Here he can also build his dream house and from then on meet friends for private conversations or celebrate parties. Only those who use their private mini-land in a tactically sensible way will survive the dangerous expeditions and finally emerge victorious from battles against animals, mythical creatures and other players.

“Real fun comes when several players join together in an informal group or a permanently established family and act jointly against evil or other groupings,” enthuses Carsten van Husen, managing director of Gameforge 4D GmbH. “Real friendships often arise from these virtual gaming communities, in which one can also exchange views about other matters of real life via the many communication channels on the Internet. In NosTale, the player becomes part of a living social environment,” van Husen continues. “That is what makes a good MMORPG – we offer more than just a PC game for the individual.”
