Bavaria Studios expanded its high-definition production equipment with 14 Fujinon lenses supplied by Videor Technical. The order comprised eight HA27x6.5BESM studio lenses, three HA13x4.5BERD ENG lenses and three HA16x6.3BERD ENG lenses.
The facility selected Fujinon after using the manufacturer’s SD studio lenses and cited optical and mechanical quality, compatibility with existing systems and the wide starting focal lengths needed for continued 4:3 production.
The HA27x6.5BESM replaced the HA26x6.7 with a 27x zoom ratio, lower weight and a shorter body. Its focal range was 6.5 to 180 mm without the 2x extender and 13 to 360 mm with it. A Precision Focus option was available.
Fujinon’s HA13x4.5BERD started at 4.5 mm with a 93.6-degree horizontal angle of view, while the HA16x6.3BERD served as a general-purpose HD zoom. Bavaria Studios planned to use the lenses with its new HD cameras as part of a broader move toward high-definition control rooms and productions.
