Both companies share the vision of a completely unified communications environment that provides users with state-of-the-art resources by means of which video conversations can be started at the press of a button. Equipped with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and a TANDBERG system, PC users will usually initiate the first contact by instant messaging after checking the online status of the desired communication partner. If necessary, when face-to-face communication appears important for example, a video conference in HD quality can then be started at the press of a button.
“With the creation of full compatibility of its systems with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, TANDBERG is acting also and above all in the interests of its customers,” says Thomas Nicolaus, managing director of TANDBERG Central Europe. “Through close cooperation with Microsoft, our customers’ investments receive clear added value both for the desktop systems and for the large Experia telepresence solution.” Gurdeep Singh Pall, Vice President of the Unified Communications Group at Microsoft, states: “The cooperation with TANDBERG opens up comprehensive possibilities for us. Thanks to the complete compatibility of the two systems, we can offer our joint customers high-quality video conferences – and worldwide.”
By combining its products for visual communication with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, TANDBERG unifies internal and external communication processes. The new products offer forward-looking and future-proof technology for successful business relationships. They also increase employee productivity while at the same time lowering costs, for example by saving business trips.
