In August, Adobe called on its Acrobat users in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to take part in the second Acrobat competition. A good three weeks before the end of the application deadline, the Acrobat competition team reports a number of exciting applications. The range of submissions extends from family businesses to internationally active companies with more than a thousand employees that present themselves as innovative acrobats. Until November 15, all users and teams from public institutions, authorities and companies that use Adobe Acrobat can still participate.

The award goes to the most innovative and interesting use of Acrobat and PDF to optimize internal and external processes. Acrobat users are to show how they improve collaboration between individual employees or departments with the aid of Adobe software, or how they optimize processes and workflows with parties outside the company.

The type of daily use, interaction with other applications as well as security aspects and concrete improvements achieved with Acrobat are assessed. Using a questionnaire that is available on the website with further information about the competition, participants can document how they use Acrobat.

All submissions are reviewed by an expert jury. In addition to Günther Gruber from Allianz Private Krankenversicherungs-AG, winner of the first edition of the Acrobat competition, Michael Herfert, Head of Transaction and Document Security at the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology (SIT), and Ulrich Isermeyer, Adobe Business Development Manager for Acrobat, assess the participants’ entries. The winners will be announced at the beginning of December. The three best Acrobat users can choose from the following prizes: a high-quality air-hockey table, an exclusive cooking course for the winning team or a voucher from concert-ticket and event-ticket provider Eventim that can be redeemed for any music, sport or cultural event.
