According to the manufacturer, the model also impresses with a DarkChip 2 DLP chip from Texas Instruments, a contrast value of 10,000:1 and quiet operating noise of 25 dB (A). The recommended retail price incl. VAT for the BenQ W5000 is 3,499 euros.
The 8-segment color wheel guarantees perfect color representation- and brilliance. According to BenQ, the image quality is characterized by a nuanced variety of colors and absolute detail sharpness, since up to 1.07 billion colors can be displayed through 10-BIT data processing. The HQV™ processor makes it possible to calculate the individual pixels so that the colors are more strongly separated. Image projection is optimized because the smallest image details (hair, grasses, grains of sand, etc.) and edges are displayed significantly more sharply.
Brilliant Color technology enables colors within the sRGB color space to appear vivid and true to color. With the aid of Color Management, the intensity of the colors red, green, blue, cyan, magenta and yellow can be controlled individually. Thanks to new video technologies, the BenQ W5000 also offers a wider range of black tones.
The W5000 has a light output of 1,200 ANSI lumens and is designed to display high-resolution images with two HDMI interfaces. The BenQ W5000 also supports the HD video standard at 24 fps (frames per second), the frame rate common in cinemas today.
In addition, the home-cinema projector offers a lens-shift function so that the projection can be shifted vertically to the desired height without distortion or a keystone effect. The position of the BenQ W5000 remains unchanged.
An isf-certified technician can adapt the projector individually and precisely to the specified ambient light with the aid of isf calibration. Two presets are available: use in daylight (isf Day) and in darkened rooms (isf Night).
