The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announces that Jerry Yang, CEO of Yahoo, will deliver one of the „Industry Insider“ addresses at the 2008 International CES. The “2008 International CES” takes place from January 7 to 10, 2008 in Las Vegas and is organized by the CEA.
Yang will kick off the 2008 „Industry Insider“ series with his speech on the first day of the trade fair, Monday, January 7 at 11:00, at the Las Vegas Hilton Theater.
„Jerry Yang is co-founder and CEO of one of the most influential and groundbreaking Internet navigation sites in history. Users around the world immediately get the information they want there,“ says Gary Shapiro, President and CEO, CEA. „Content and technologies are increasingly interlocking, thus creating new ways to connect users both with information and with one another. We are very excited about Yang’s view of the development of Internet technology and its impact on consumer technology products.“
Jerry Yang co-developed the Yahoo Internet navigation guide in 1994 and co-founded Yahoo in April 1995. In June 2007, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer. Since the company was founded, Yang has been a member of Yahoo’s executive management and is currently on Yahoo’s supervisory board. Yang is also on the supervisory board of Alibaba, an Asian Pacific American Community Fund, Cisco and Yahoo Japan as well as on the Board of Trustees of Stanford University.
The 2008 International CES will show products from more than 2,700 exhibitors across more than 30 product categories, including new products from the fields of content, wireless, digital imaging, mobile electronics, home theater and audio.
