The compact 16×9 EX Super Fisheye is designed especially for the demanding needs of the new compact and high-resolution HD camcorders. It is even smaller and lighter than the Super Fisheye 0.45x from the same series and has a magnification factor of 0.4.
Using the Super Fisheye creates convex images with exaggerated angles as well as an extremely barrel-shaped distortion of the image, producing a wide-angle “fisheye” impression. Fisheye converters widen the image angle of the lens and offer the human eye an extreme wide-angle perspective of the action. This is made possible by a curved front lens.
Because of its compact size and front diameter of only 90mm, the Compact Super Fisheye fits perfectly on smaller cameras such as the Canon XH-A1. At only 187g, it is an absolute lightweight and is therefore superbly suited to handheld cameras. Through the EX Compact Superfisheye attachment, the XH-A1 achieves a maximum horizontal image angle of 116°. Because of its small size, the 16×9 EX Superfisheye 0.4x is also less susceptible to damage than larger and heavier equipment.
A special reducing ring (72<62mm) is available for attaching it to the Sony HVR-V1U and HDR-FX7 camcorders. This is fastened to the rear part of the adapter with only a single screw. Without the reducing ring, the 72mm adapter fits perfectly onto the front threads of most commercially available HD camcorders with the aid of a thread.
Developed and manufactured in Japan, the 16×9 EX Compact Super Fisheye 0.4x is distinguished by absolute precision and outstanding HD quality and thereby once again confirms the pioneering role of the entire 16×9 EX Collection in terms of technology and design. The 16×9 EX Compact Super Fisheye is available for 449,-Euro (net), or approximately 535,- euros including value-added tax.
