Sybase 365, a subsidiary of Sybase Inc. (NYSE: SY) and world market leader in the global management and delivery of mobile content as well as provisioning and billing in the Mobile Messaging sector, is launching Sybase mBanking 365, an innovative product suite for the financial sector. The new service enables banks to interact with their customers in real time through mobile phone alerts, two-way banking services, out-of-band authentication and marketing campaigns.

Thanks to Sybase mBanking 365, banks can send important account information to their customers’ mobile devices without delay, while they in turn have access to the desired information and can carry out transactions anytime and anywhere.

Sybase mBanking 365 offers secure, direct multi-channel interaction with customers through all Mobile Messaging channels such as SMS, WAP and Rich Client. This makes it possible to provide both security-related services such as alerts for certain account activities, with which the customer is informed in real time about potentially fraudulent transaction attempts, and simple processes such as balance inquiries particularly conveniently and without costly customer-service resources. As another advantage, with the Answers 365 module Sybase mBanking 365 supports the processing of interactive banking services using natural speech recognition, so that the customer does not have to remember passwords in order to use the desired service.

“Mobile Banking is catching on across the board,” explains Marty Beard, President of Sybase 365. “The mobile phone is developing into the technology par excellence that is available to people around the globe. Mobile Banking will therefore establish itself within a very short time as an important channel for customer interaction.”

Financial institutions have recognized that mobile banking services offer them a number of advantages. These include cost savings and more efficient customer communication as well as fraud minimization and better customer retention overall. The increasing attractiveness of Mobile Banking Services is demonstrated by a study that Sybase 365 recently commissioned in America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

According to this, a quarter of the consumers surveyed would consider changing their main bank if an alternative provider offered them mobile banking services.

Sybase can look back on many years of successful cooperation with some of the world’s largest banks. With its Financial Fusion Server platform, the company has been providing 200 leading international financial institutions with a broad range of integrated services for more than seven years. Supplemented by its comprehensive Mobile Banking expertise as a leading provider of mBanking services (SMS, MMS) for financial service providers worldwide, Sybase 365 is positioning itself as the perfect partner to exploit the full potential of Mobile Banking.

The new mBanking 365 service can draw on the company’s Operator Grade network, which includes connections through 700 mobile network operators worldwide and more than 2.4 billion users. In this way, financial institutions can reach their customers on the move 100 percent through a single interface to Sybase 365.
