Due to the excellent ratings on the broadcaster FIVE as well as its continuing noticeably increasing attractiveness, LITTLE PRINCESS has now also been nominated for the Children’s BAFTA Award (British Academy Film and Televison Arts) in the “Best Animated Preschool Series” category.

Sold in more than 120 countries worldwide to date, the success of LITTLE PRINCESS continues with the sale of the TV rights for both seasons to Cartoon Network/Spain and TV Ontario/Canada. Broadcasters such as Canal J and France 5 from France, ABC/Australia, Minimax/Poland and RUV/Iceland, all of which had already acquired the first season, have now also opted for the second season of the preschool series. Program agreements for the second season had previously already been concluded with S4C/Wales, SVT Barnkanalen/Sweden, NRK/Norway and DR TV/Denmark. Furthermore, Little Princess will shortly debut in Italy on the broadcaster Rai Tre.

The home entertainment exploitation rights for both seasons were awarded on the one hand to LNK Audiovisual S.A. from Portugal and on the other hand to Universal Pictures Video for French-speaking Europe. In addition, Cass Film Entertainment secured the home video rights to the first season of LITTLE PRINCESS for the Polish market.

Furthermore, the LITTLE PRINCESS brand was also strengthened in international licensing and merchandising. From 2008, Panini Germany will publish an activity magazine accompanying the TV series.

Justine Bannister, TV-Loonland’s Head of Distribution and International Acquisitions, said: “From the beginning, we firmly believed in the international potential that our little princess has within her, and the series has meanwhile become a well-known brand. Internationally renowned partners from the TV and home entertainment sector were won over, among other things, by the rapidly visible success in the licensing sector. We look forward to publishing further news in the coming weeks.”
