On the basis of extensive market research, Avid will present a series of customer-focused initiatives in 2008 with the common goal of facilitating interaction between customers, prospective customers and media with the company. The company intends to present the details of its planning for 2008 to the public in February.

This is intended to form the prelude to a wealth of new initiatives for user communities, technical support programs, highly personalized events as well as innovative product announcements over the course of the year. The company also announced that it would not have a booth at the ‘2008 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Convention’ in Las Vegas, but will meet with customers in Las Vegas next April.

“We are constantly examining how we can most effectively build closer relationships with our customers and keep pace with the constantly changing media market. In recent months, we have collected data from all business areas, and the results speak clearly: We need new forms of dialogue with the user”, comments Graham Sharp, Vice President and General Manager of Avid’s Video Division. “Therefore, in 2008 we will present a series of initiatives that we believe will change the industry – in all regions of the world and in all areas of our business. In the past, we have seen how much effective it can be for our users – and for our own success – to invest in alternative, customer-centered activities. It is time for Avid to give something back to the industry. These activities will lead to a more vibrant community in which customers and newcomers can experience, understand and participate in how the industry is developing – and what creative contribution they themselves can make.”
