SANYO’s Xacti HD1000 is currently the smallest and lightest Digital Movie camera (1) that records video clips in Full HD quality (1920 x 1080 pixels) on an SD card. The PLV-Z2000 is a Full HD home theater projector with the industry’s most advanced lens shift function, an especially quiet ventilation system, the sharpest picture of all time as well as a 3D color management system.
The Xacti HD1000 stores the data in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format. This means that up to 43 minutes of film in Full HD quality (1920 x 1080) fit on a 4 GB SDHC memory card. In trendy black or silver, the Xacti HD1000 also impresses with its exterior. At only 268 grams, the camera is a real lightweight and, at 90 x 54 x 112 mm, fits in any bag. In addition, the multitalent sits particularly well in the hand thanks to its ergonomic design. Films and pictures can be viewed conveniently on the 2.7-inch TFT LCD monitor. The necessary power is provided by the newly developed high-performance lithium-ion battery with 1900 mAh, which supplies the Xacti HD1000 with power for an especially long time.
Thanks to the Dual Shot function, you can also take high-quality photos at a resolution of four megapixels with the Xacti HD1000 during film recording. The light sensitivity corresponds to ISO 3,200 and allows shots to succeed even in twilight. Particularly short exposure times enable fast continuous shooting with up to seven photos per second. The digital image stabilizer ensures blur-free pictures, even if the photographer has an unsteady hand.
The Xacti HD1000’s „Xacti Library”-function makes managing and archiving the high-resolution pictures and films easy and fast: Via USB cable, an external drive is connected as a storage medium to the camera’s docking station, which is connected to the HD TV via the HDMI interface. Using the menu on the HD TV, the stored files can be conveniently selected and managed with the supplied remote control.
The Xacti HD1000 can also be connected to the PLV-Z2000 via the docking station and the HDMI interface in order to present the self-shot films and videos to a large group in a home theater atmosphere. Thanks to the full HD resolution in 1080p/24p, even large image formats appear on the projection surface without a visible grid. As a Full HD projector, the PLV-Z2000 offers more than twice as many pixels as traditional projectors. As a result, the images look as clear and detailed as was previously known only from the cinema screen. With the built-in lens shift function, the home theater enthusiast can adjust the image vertically by up to three and horizontally by up to two screen sizes. The twofold wide-angle zoom enables large projections even in living rooms or in smaller spaces.
At only 19 decibels, the fan cools the interior of the projector especially effectively and quietly. Thanks to the low noise level, even quiet film scenes can be followed undisturbed. The new inorganic panels, in conjunction with the
3D color management system, provide excellent color depth. To reproduce primary colors, which are normally difficult to control, better, SANYO has developed color management that is 1,100 times better (approximately 2.16 billion combinations) compared with traditional models. This allows Full HD quality to be displayed in rich colors.
The automatic stepped aperture combines design and functionality. Two Deepcolor HDMI inputs (version 1.3a) as well as 14-bit gamma correction ensure natural color reproduction. The image brightness of 1,200 ANSI lumens and the contrast ratio of 15,000:1 offer cinema enthusiasts a real alternative to visiting the cinema. The automatic aperture, which protects the lens, offers a high level of convenience. In stand-by mode, the PLV-Z2000 consumes only 0.5 watts and is therefore especially environmentally friendly.
The PLV-Z2000 is available immediately from specialist retailers for Euro 2.790,- (recommended retail price including value-added tax). SANYO offers its customers a three-year warranty on the device as well as a lamp warranty totaling 90 days or 300 operating hours. The Xacti Digital Movie HD1000 has already been available since September in the colors black and silver from specialist photo retailers. The RRP is 899,- euros (recommended retail price including value-added tax).
