Thanks to this new technology, the Boxxster is extremely reliable. Like all DVC ClipRecorders, the Boxxster is based on the QuickClip software platform, one of whose key advantages is guaranteed 100% VTR emulation. This allows the Boxxster to be controlled like a professional video recorder via RS.422 and the Sony 9-pin protocol. In addition, the Boxxster also supports the clip-based Louth/VDCP and Odetics protocols and can be operated frame-accurately via common ShowControl and automation systems.
Like all ClipRecorder models, the Boxxster has all important disk recorder functions, including playlist, loop mode, clip management and batch recording. The Boxxster can be remote-controlled via IP using a Java or HTTP user interface. The included SyncControl software allows multiple Boxxsters to be synchronised frame-accurately for multichannel recording and playback.
Because the Boxxster records natively in the NTFS file format, the image data can be accessed directly via Gigabit Ethernet, or files can be written directly to the Boxxster’s disk array. With the File Import Manager, all common compressed and uncompressed video & audio file formats can be imported easily.
In addition to HD-SDI inputs and outputs, the Boxxster also has analogue video and audio interfaces, making it a cost-effective replacement for HD video recorders and a universal player / playback device for HD & 2k presentations. Even for HD broadcast applications with 1080i or 720p, the Boxxster can be used thanks to its simple connection to a broadcast automation system. The Boxxster is supplied with 480, 720 or 1200 GB net storage and costs Euro 10,500,- plus VAT with 480 GB. A DVI version with DVI output, programmable VESA grids and analogue audio is available for the presentation and R&D market.
According to the manufacturer, the Boxxster is suitable for single-link SD, HD & 2K, especially when a compact design, low weight and energy-saving operation are desired.
