At the centre of the specialist meeting are diverse questions about the cooperative relationship between TV broadcasters and production companies. These include: To what extent are producers today independent guarantors of quality and creativity, or do they – as an extended workbench – primarily fulfil the ideas of the broadcasting organisations as clients? Who owns which rights to the products – and how will this present itself in the future in view of new forms, formats and distribution channels? Where do the lines of conflict lie, who has which claims, what do solution patterns and perspectives look like?
Further: What is the situation with funding and financing models? And of course: In what constellation does the production landscape present itself, what is the situation with concentrations, connections, what are the orders of magnitude, how is independence declined, what is the relationship between economics and performance?
These and other questions will be discussed by experts and doers, producers and programme executives – from Axel Kühn (Programme Director RTL II) through Jörg Grabosch (Managing Director Brainpool TV) and Bettina Reitz (Head of Drama-Film-Series, BR) to Michael Souvignier (Managing Director Zeitsprung Entertainment).
On the evening of the first conference day, the SWR “Tatort: Fettkiller” will be presented as an avant-premiere. At the reception afterwards, participants and guests will have ample opportunity for contacts and conversations in an informal atmosphere.
