The program simplifies the creation and distribution of screencasts. Camtasia Studio records exactly what users see on screen, what they say, and how they interact with any Windows-based application or website. Users can then edit the interactive content and distribute the finished product online in all common streaming formats, including Flash (SWF, FLV), burn it to CD or DVD, or download it to a mobile player such as an Apple iPod.
In addition to stability improvements and additional transitions, Camtasia Studio 5 includes the following new features: Camtasia SmartFocus™ lets users create smooth zoom and pan movements with one click, directing viewers’ attention to what matters. It also provides the necessary visual quality when screencasts are played in small windows, such as on blogs, YouTube or Apple iPod. A Camtasia SmartFocus screencast in English can be viewed at http://www.techsmith.com/cs5smartfocus.
TechSmith ExpressShow is a streamlined delivery and playback format for Camtasia Studio screencasts. It is easy for viewers to use, allowing them to concentrate fully on the content while requiring only minimal screen space. ExpressShow can also be adapted to a company’s corporate-identity guidelines. Snap-to-App automatically brings applications, dialog windows and the cursor into the correct recording position at the right time. This keeps recording steady, reduces recording duration and makes the presentation clear and professional.
