Bunte Online is now available under its own URL, “www.bunte.de”. IVYworld.de is launching online as a new lifestyle magazine. Sales for the sites are handled by Tomorrow Focus’s Sales division, while the technology comes from Tomorrow Focus Technologies.

Two websites could hardly be more different, yet both were completed in just under three months. The project teams at both companies worked at full speed and launched both sites on schedule.

Bunte Online is the first major website built on HPS, Tomorrow Focus Technologies’ content-management system (CMS) for high-traffic websites, which follows the XHTML Strict standard. Working closely with the Bunte Online team, the CMS was designed so that Bunte could independently create the layout and front end without dependence on the technical infrastructure. The team could also easily add its own scripts or Flash applications to extend the site. Thanks to the integrated “column package”, freelance editors can contribute articles from anywhere without having to deal with populating the CMS or laying out the page themselves. Hosting and operations are also handled by Tomorrow Focus Technologies. At “www.ivyworld.de”, alongside the large editorial offering, the focus is on community participation in the Web 2.0 model. In addition to conventional forum functionality, the WordPress(TM) multi-user blogging system is central, enabling selected power users to maintain their own area of the site with their own login. Their contributions appear integrated into editorial sections in the IVYworld design. The website’s screen design was created by Tomorrow Focus Technologies, which won an external pitch against competitors. In the IVY-TV section, editors can upload videos in all formats, which are then converted to Flash by a video-audio converter. Tomorrow Focus Technologies is also responsible for hosting and operations.

Alongside the technology, Tomorrow Focus AG is taking on sales for both websites. “Bunte Online’s high-reach editorial offering fits perfectly with Tomorrow Focus AG’s portfolio strategy. The same applies to the launch of IVYworld, which expands our brand portfolio with a new target group,” said Christoph Schuh, Tomorrow Focus AG board member for Sales and Marketing. Tomorrow Focus AG customers were expected to benefit from more than 11.5 million unique users already reported by AGOF. For Bunte Online, the marketer anticipated an advertising reach of more than one million unique users a month.

Bunte Online is the internet presence of Bunte, Europe’s largest people magazine, published by Burda People Group. Bunte Online is distinguished by up-to-date coverage of stars, society, royalty and the social scene. With more than 30 million page impressions according to IVW in October, Bunte is Germany’s largest online people portal. Within the T-Online network, the website achieved more than 1.1 million unique users per month and was therefore already one of the most popular people websites before the relaunch.

IVYworld.de is the new “green lifestyle” magazine of publishing group Milchstrasse, a company of the BURDA LIFESTYLE COMMUNITY. From the end of November, the online portal was to be accompanied on a trial basis by a print edition at selected outlets. Both media target the so-called LOHAS audience: “Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability” describes consumers who value style, environmental awareness and sustainability. Thanks to the IVYworld.de community, users can actively contribute their own ideas for a “better world”. As a reward, they can receive a CO2 certificate guaranteeing carbon-dioxide savings through climate-protection projects. The portal was to remain advertising-free during its first months.
