The Frenchman became internationally known in 1998 with the animated film “Kirikou and the Sorceress”. The film’s great success enabled him to produce the films “Kirikou and the Wild Animals” (winning film Stuttgart 2006) and “Azur and Asmar” (winning film Stuttgart 2007). Among those who have already agreed is the Hungarian graphic artist, media artist and animation filmmaker Theodore Ushev. He has lived in Canada since 1999; his film “Sou” won the audience award at the PLATFORM Festival in Portland, Oregon, this summer.

The Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film is accepting films for only a few more days! The deadline is December 1. The submission form is available at http://www.itfs.de. The team looks forward to short, long, colourful, unconventional, adult and playful films. And this year, for the first time, also animated commissioned films.
A Lot of Work – and a Lot of Surprise: the Preselection
The preselection juries will meet from the beginning of December. We now have six competitions, and literally several hundred hours of films have to be viewed. Albrecht Ade, the founder of the Stuttgart Animation Film Festival, is back again. Vincent Ferri from Annecy/France and director and producer Thomas Schneider-Trumpp (Scopas Media AG, “Dragon Tales”) are also on the preselection juries, as are Stefanie Herwig, Helmut Herbst, Tim Weimann, Jan-Peter Meier, Christina Schindler, Ulrich Wegenast, Iris Loos, Benjamin Manns, Frank Klasen, Petra Keil, Michael Preiswerk, Thomas Meyer-Hermann, Christoph Lamprecht and Silke Wilfinger.
