MTV Networks Germany has commissioned Exozet Interact, Berlin, with the technical implementation of the relaunch of its MTV.de platform. The Hamburg agency Deepblue Networks is responsible for the concept and design. Interaction, mobility and user involvement are at the heart of the new MTV.de presence. The new MTV.de community is being created on the basis of the Exozet.Max Interaction Server — an application server developed by Exozet for web and mobile applications. It enables its members to help shape “their” MTV.de through comment and voting functions. The structure of MTV.de has been expanded to include the sections “What’s going on?”, “Games” and “Win”.

The “What’s going on?” service follows the web trend of “microblogging”, as can be seen at Twitter, for example. Registered users can make contact with each other in real time. Whether online or via SMS — users have 140 characters to tell registered users what is currently “going on” with them. Thanks to the SMS functionality of the Exozet.Max Interaction Server, incoming text messages can be assigned to registered users without problems and passed on under the respective username, provided the mobile phone number has been stored.

The integration of the MTV Overdrive video portal and “V.I.P. Stalker”, a paparazzi platform for users, is planned for the next expansion phase. With “V.I.P. Stalker”, users can enter on a map where and when they saw which celebrity and leave a comment about it. The offering is a mash-up of Google Maps and user-generated content. Exozet also ensures that MTV News, charts and the TV programme can be accessed via WAP.

For MTV Networks, Exozet previously already technically implemented the relaunch of VIVA.tv and Comedy Central and realised the TurboNICK web TV offering for the children’s channel NICK.
