StepNet developed a production system for communications agency Textuel using QuarkXPress Server 7. Textuel and an international construction-materials manufacturer use the client-server platform and web interface to generate business documents, financial analyses and reports on demand in a consistent corporate layout.
StepNet created its Smart Content Server software in response to demand for automated content management and established technology partnerships with companies including Apple. Managing Director Jean-Paul Rigal says QuarkXPress Server and Quark Publishing System allow the desktop application to be integrated into networked production.
Textuel designed a unified corporate-communications system for a construction-materials group operating in 77 countries. Around twenty internal and external communication modules covered corporate reports, brochures and internal publications. QuarkXPress Server 7.2 and Smart Content Server give local offices browser access to these modules and Textuel’s layouts. Images and graphics can be localised or adjusted without changing the corporate identity.
StepNet selected the solution within four weeks and built a prototype in three days. The company added functions for template variation management and performance analysis. Textuel also revised its templates with tags so they could be accessed through the web interface.
Textuel president Gilles About says the workflow gives every office access to standard communication modules that can be adapted to local requirements online while maintaining consistent design.
