ASTRA and RTL Deepen Cooperation on Interactive Service Blucom

Special aspect of the new cooperation: The increased integration of interactive offerings accompanying the programme.

Blucom users can thus vote live on RTL’s top shows, e.g. “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” (broadcast starts January 11, 10:15 p.m.) and “Germany Seeks the Superstar” (from January 23). To take part, they simply need to navigate to the corresponding topic special on their mobile phone and click the voting button for the desired candidate.

The advantage for users who download Blucom via the RTL mobile portal in the period from 24.12.07 to 06.01.2008: They receive the new edition of the mobile game “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” free of charge.

Blucom allows TV broadcasters to actively involve viewers in the current programme and, in addition to classic information services such as programme information, weather information, lottery numbers, sports results or additional information accompanying the programme, also enables forms of interaction such as voting, downloads and chats. The viewer only needs a mobile phone and a browser that can be ordered by SMS and must be loaded onto the mobile phone once (one-off cost €3.99). Via the Blucom browser, consumers receive interactive, spontaneous and simple access to mobile content offered to them on the programme organiser’s pages to match the current broadcast. For viewers who own a digital satellite receiver with the Blucom symbol, even the transmission fee is eliminated thanks to Bluetooth.
