DVD Charts Glow Yellow

A hit on television for 20 years; celebrated on the cinema screen by more than 4.5 million visitors. Now Springfield’s yellow menace is really shaking up the media control DVD charts. “The Simpsons – The Movie”, the first feature film from the pen of Matt Groening, shoots straight to number one from a standing start.

Immediately behind them, a few school friends are swinging their dancing legs. Newcomer “High School Musical 2” contains additional film material and karaoke versions of the popular songs. “High School Musical”, part one of the Disney production, climbs from 31 to seven.

At position 13, there is a reunion with the “Gilmore Girls”. The first twelve episodes of the seventh season are new in the hit list.

Wizard student Harry Potter is now awarded bronze for “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” after the silver medal. At the top last week, “Pirates of the Caribbean – At World’s End” has to drop to four. The special edition of the pirate spectacle slips to eleven.

“300” (5) and “Music and Lyrics – A Song for You” (6) each lose two places.

Ranks eight to ten go to “Die Hard 4.0”, “Mario Barth – Men Are Primitive, but Happy” and “Loriot – The Complete Television Edition”.
