Sonnet’s Fusion F2 storage system does without active cooling, allowing the use of a compact housing. The heat generated during operation is dissipated through the aluminum housing.
Fusion F2 has two 2.5-inch hard drives, each with a capacity of 320 GB. The housing measures only around 15 x 15 x 1.8 centimeters. Power is supplied from the computer via a FireWire 400 cable.
Configured as a RAID 0 system, the device achieves a data rate of 126 MB/second according to the manufacturer.
Sonnet Technologies made its name early on by manufacturing Mac processor upgrades. It has since become a specialist in storage solutions.
