With social-web functions such as voting and comments, N24.de was relaunched as an interactive video-news platform that combines text, images and video. Through “N24 Augenzeuge,” users could submit text, photos and video for editorial review and publication.
The redesign aligned the layout with N24’s corporate identity and restructured the service for usability. Content and sidebar modules could be assembled by topic, enabling flexible page layouts. News itself was also modularised, ending the strict separation of video, image and text and allowing combinations according to need.
A second major innovation was the N24 Media Centre, an archive for videos, image galleries and other multimedia content, including the N24 live stream. Built on exozet’s TVNEXT IPTV technology, it combined contributions and news in an interactive application. The project linked e-Sprit’s CMS to TVNEXT, transforming N24.de from a programme-supporting site into an independent information portal more closely connecting television and the internet.
