Screenplays for the German Animation Screenplay Award can be submitted only until February 15. The organisers of the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film point this out. The award is intended to honour feature-length animated-film projects written in German. Projects in the production phase are also eligible – screenplays for films that have already been completed cannot be submitted. The award for the best German-language screenplay for an animated feature film will be presented at a separate event at the Festival of Animated Film. It is endowed with 5,000 euros, donated by the Evangelical Church in Germany.

Complete screenplays or treatments must be submitted with a ten-page extract from the screenplay. The festival website provides information about the details of submission.

The internationally composed juries include Joanna Quinn (London), Ron Diamond (Hollywood), Michel Ocelot (Paris), Priit Tender (Tallinn), Seiji Arihara (Tokyo), Thomas Meyer-Hermann (Stuttgart), Amir Kassaei (Berlin) and many other artists and animation specialists. The prize in the “Tricks for Kids” competition will again be awarded by a children’s jury.
