Marvell’s 88DE2710 digital video-format converter was selected from hundreds of nominations as a finalist in the Multimedia IC category of the 2007 EDN Innovation Awards. It was the first product to use Marvell’s Qdeo video-processing technology.
EDN editor-in-chief Maury Wright said the 2007 awards covered the widest range of categories in the program’s history, spanning integrated circuits, development and EDA software, sensors, modules, systems and test equipment.
“We are honored to be among the finalists for this award,” said Marvell digital entertainment general manager and vice president Nikhil Balram. He described the 88DE2710 and Qdeo processing as a solution for consumer-electronics products requiring high-quality video.
The 88DE2710 was used in home-cinema equipment including the LG BH200 dual-format HD DVD and Blu-ray player, Pioneer Elite SC-09TX A/V receiver and Meridian iRIS HD video dock.
